HTC Droid DNA Leaked, Boasts 5-Inch 1080p Display
Picture a display with the very same resolution as a 1080p big-screen TV, shrunk down to the size of your average phone-meets-tablet smartphone at 5-inches. That’s what HTC is cooking up with its latest Droid, if a new leak as reported by SlashGear is to be believed.
According to the website - which spotted a posting from notoriously-accurate source for this kind of news, @evleaks – the device will boast the highest resolution display of any mobile device on the planet, that at 1080 x 1920 pixels combined with the 5-inch display comes in at a quite remarkable 440ppi. Compare that to the iPhone’s otherwise phenomenal Retina Display (at 326ppi) and you begin to see exactly what HTC is bringing to the table. Sufficient to say, this could be a beauty.

The latest press image seems to confirm the speculation.Supposedly coming to the US and the Verizon network in December, an international release for the device is likely to remain a mystery until HTC actually comes out and spills the beans, though expect a name change along the way if we do see it here in the UK.
Early word is the 'DROID DNA' as it's being referred will feature similar specs to the HTC J Butterfly, announced last month for Japanese markets, this being what looks like the exact same phone under the guise of a new name. Accordingly, it's likely to boast a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2Gb of RAM, 16Gb of internal storage with a microSD slot, an 8-megapixel camera on the rear, and will run Android Jellybean (whether it'll be 4.1 or 4.2 is unclear at this moment in time). 4G capability, meanwhile, is to be expected if the phone is to compete with the heavyweights currently at market.
It's a confident stride by HTC, which looks to be in a position tobolster its superlative-driven range of high-end smartphones with perhaps its most powerful yet. Looking forward to it?
