Since I was 14, posting reviews on various forums, it has been my dream to enter a career in editorial and content creation — specifically in gaming and technology. Fast forward 21 years, and I am Managing Editor, Computing at Tom’s Guide.

This started with creating my own blog (the website you’re on now) alongside my full-time job in PR. Building my reputation with an international journalist scholarship to CES 2017 and several awards, I contributed on a freelance basis for the likes of Kotaku, BBC and Stuff Magazine over seven years.

Then, I took my first steps into a full-time career as a technology journalist, and I haven’t looked back since! In this portfolio, I will show you my industry history, my work across many content formats, and the results I have delivered to the business and the 162 million readers (and counting).

My industry history

Currently, I am Managing Editor of Computing for Tom’s Guide. This role includes managing a team of seven incredible writers and editors, with the key goal of informing and inspiring our readers about the present and future of computing. I also contribute with reviews, news and features myself — with original video and photography captured and edited by me.

My role has also extended more widely into news research for the brand as a whole, planning (and executing) press events with up to 10 people, and taking a data-driven approach to directing the whole of Tom’s Guide in its peak trading content plan.

Through my work, computing has seen an 8% year-on-year increase in traffic, several record breaking events (including CES 2025), and with my experience creating a highly optimize affiliate strategy, a 20+% year-on-year increase in revenue.

Previously, I worked as a content editor for Laptop Mag. This role included news and review writing about mobile tech, computing and gaming, editing the content of a small team, overseeing the social media strategy, filming/editing my own videos, and maintaining our site’s effective affiliate deals content rollout.

I was also deals writer for Tom’s Hardware, and contributed to a 30% year-on-year increase in revenue.

Before this, I regularly contributed to Stuff Magazine - check out my pieces here.

Video content

Starting as a hobby during lockdown, I have been gaining experience across key areas of video production, from live streaming on Twitch and creating quick, engaging TikToks, to filming/editing polished videos for YouTube. This expands beyond the content itself, however — gathering knowledge in the platforms themselves to ensure my work is easily searchable, well engaged and performs at its best.

To my recent content for my own channel, Tom’s Guide and Laptop Mag, watch the playlists below across technology and gaming.

@tomsguide After trying out the prototype last year, we’re back with an official hands-on demo of Nacon’s RevoSim Pure sim racing wheel that very well could be the best of 2025. Besides how awesome it was to test out, the specs it’s offering for the price are no joke 🏎️ #simracing #simracingsetup #simracingrigs #simracingwheel #racingwheel #gaming #naconrevosimpure #cooltech #techtok #demo #techgadgets #bestsimracers #tomsguide ♬ Minimal for news / news suspense(1169746) - Hiraoka Kotaro

@tomsguide Yes, ANOTHER pair of smart glasses to put on your radar 🤪 except the TCL RayNeo X3 Pro smart glasses are extremely legit, blending Snapdragon AL1 Gen 1 for AI processing with discreet MicroLED displays for AR overlays. There’s even a 12MP camera baked in! The downside? These high-tech glasses still look pretty chunky, and it’s tough to commit to wearing something so bold on the daily. But would you be interested in giving them a try 🤔 #smartglasses #arglasses #wearabletech #aiglasses #tclrayneox3pro #tclrayneo #rayneox3pro #hitech #cooltech #amazingtech #techtok #tech #raybanmeta #livetranslate #futuretech #tomsguide ♬ Vlog Video work Fashionable BGM(847726) - Tsuyoshi_san

Best of my blog…

Over a decade of writing thousands of blogs about gaming, technology, science and geek culture, I’ve been incredibly lucky to be given some amazing opportunities based on the strength of this brand. Here are just a few of my favourite pieces that reflect this.

Podcast

Bringing you the laughs of leaving work on Friday and heading straight to the pub in podcast form - The Virtual Pub was a regular episodic show in which me and my friends cracked open a couple of beers, discuss the latest news and have a laugh over a pub quiz. At it’s peak, the show had over 2,000 listeners per episode.

I scripted, recorded and edited this podcast personally.
